It’s nearly the weekend and therefore time for our Friday round-up of things we think are useful, informative, or maybe just entertaining.
This week, we’re introducing our
first five choices for Best Dog Food Toppers. As with our Best Dog Treats and Best Dog Dental Chews, we don’t analyze these in the same way we analyze dog food but we do look for good ingredients.
The list will grow so don’t worry if the product you use isn’t here — it doesn’t mean it’s bad. We’re also very happy to hear your suggestions for toppers that have worked for your dog.
What are dog food toppers?
On Wednesday, I wrote about my wife’s cousin Michael who only ate cornflakes until the age of 16. The story was related to diet rotation but could easily have segued into an email on picky eaters.
Many dog parents will
know the agony of trying to feed a fussy dog. They need the nutrients but for some reason would rather go hungry than eat perfectly good dog food.
While we have a Best Dog Foods for Picky Eaters list, another technique for getting your dog to eat is to add tasty toppers to their food.
They come in various forms, from fresh foods and wet
foods used in small amounts to raw meat, cooked meat, fruits and specifically designed wet and dry toppers. Anything that will encourage dogs to eat their meals!
