Hey, Happy Monday! Ok, so this is a little different. Today’s newsletter is the one I usually send out on a Wednesday, in which I talk about nutrition, ingredients, feeding tips, the industry, my dog, my sporting injuries, the weather… and so on. But for one week only you’re getting it on a Monday. That’s
because we’ve partnered with leading pet food retailer Chewy to bring you savings on high-quality pet food and treats. These savings will be highlighted in five emails, starting
tomorrow and ending on Monday. I hope these deals will be useful to all or most of you. If not, please don’t worry (or unsubscribe!), you won’t be getting daily emails forever — normal service will be resumed next week. The email subjects will be clear, so you should know at a glance which are relevant to you. Anyway, back to today’s newsletter…
We’ve got a new article on
the site: Is Fresh Dog Food Worth the Cost?
I think it’s a question many dog parents have asked themselves. We all know fresh dog food is, on the whole, pricier than kibble and canned food — and yet it’s growing in popularity.
Which
means a lot of people are answering “yes” to that question.
Obviously, for many, it’s
not a question they will ever ask — for financial reasons or because they simply prefer to feed their dogs other kinds of food. And that’s fine — there are plenty of excellent non-fresh dog foods
that we rate 4- or
5-star.
But if
you have the resources or are in a position where you could perhaps afford it at a stretch (or combine it with
less expensive foods), or even if you’re just curious, the article is well worth a read.
It addresses things like the claimed health benefits, whether it’s a winner for nutrition and convenience, and whether it
might pay for itself by saving you money in other areas such as vet bills.
And remember, a lot of fresh food brands offer introductory discounts if you want to try them: you can see them on our Best Fresh Dog Foods page.
I’d be interested to know if you’ve ever asked yourself that question and what conclusion you came to. And if you said “yes’, are you glad you did?
That’s all from me for today. Like I say, you’ll be getting another email from me tomorrow with some great savings. I hope it comes in handy.
