I’m also aware of the damage
meat farming is doing to our environment (please don’t write in to argue with me on this!). Yet still I buy it.
Now, I try to reduce my meat intake and buy better quality, more ethical produce within my means. But I can’t take that step to vegetarianism.
Hypocritical? Maybe. Uncomfortable? Increasingly so. Alone? Definitely not.
I also feed a lot of meat to my dog — a good 15oz a day. So even if I went veggie or vegan, I’d still be buying more meat than some families.
Unless, of course, I fed my dog a vegan or vegetarian diet.
I know this is a subject that can raise both passion and confusion so, with the help of our esteemed in-house nutritionist Laura Ward, we’ve
created this article: Can Dogs
Be Vegetarian or Vegan?
It’s a really good read with a lot of very helpful information, especially if meat-free dog food is something you’d consider.
Ok, with that I’m off to stare into my fridge, wrestle with my conscience, and probably eat a ham sandwich.
