Hey, Happy Wednesday! Everyone loves a bit of magic, right? From close-up sleight of hand to the death- and physics-defying glamour of big-time stage illusionists, we’re left with a combined sense of wonder and incredulity. I’ve lost count of the
times I’ve said, “Shut the front door!” (or words to that effect) when a conjurer at a wedding or whatever has set fire to a playing card, popped the ashes in an envelope and posted them to Azerbaijan, only for the card to reappear intact in my soup. Fabulous entertainment. But it’s not always entertaining to be fooled.
I’m sad to say that some pet food companies use illusions of their own to sell their products — tricks of the trade they employ on dog food labels that, shall we say, bend the truth. The good news is, we at the Dog Food
Advisor are always on your side. Not only do we look for these tricks when reviewing dog food, we've also written this guide to them: Common Tricks Used on Dog Food Packaging The other good news is, the best dog food companies have nothing to hide and there are lots of fantastic recipes out there. Some of them might even use these tricks, but that doesn’t necessarily make them bad for your dog — just read the guide and bear what it says in mind when choosing dog food.
That’s all from me this week. My love to all your dogs.
