Hey, Happy Wednesday! Salads have become rather fancy in
recent years, haven’t they? When I was a kid, it was pretty much lettuce, cucumber, tomato, onion and a basic dressing. Some corn if it was a special occasion. These days ingredients might include a selection of “leaves”, pomegranate seeds, roasted chard, multiple kinds of oil, and even petals. All delicious and nutritious stuff, of course. But one thing you don’t tend to get is grass — particularly the garden lawn or local park varieties. Which makes you wonder, why do dogs eat grass?
I know my dog will eat it when he has an upset stomach. But that’s not
the only reason, as we discuss in this excellent and comprehensive article: Why do Dogs Eat Grass? It looks at why dogs eat grass (there are more reasons than you might think), why they sometimes vomit afterwards, if eating grass is dangerous, and if and when you need to call your vet. The good news is,
in the last case the answer is “rarely”. I hope the article leaves you feeling informed and this email leaves you feeling hungry. (Yes, “leaves” is a deliberate pun and no, I won’t apologize.)
