Hey,
Happy Wednesday!
A few friends of mine have recently had unpleasant bouts of Covid-19. Obviously, these days that sentence doesn’t carry the same weight it once did. While the virus hasn’t gone away and it can still be horrific, its overall impact is far less devastating now.
I don’t know about you, but the pandemic and the various forms of lockdown feel like a fever dream (excuse the pun). A bizarre time and experience.
Yet it wasn’t a dream — and its effects on everyday life are significant. People work from home more, for example.
It also affected pets and pet parents. Dog adoptions rocketed, as did the cost of buying a dog (and, sadly, the number of dog thefts and puppy
farms).
But have those changes lasted?
Figures from the American Pet Products Association’s National Pet Owner Survey (NPOS) suggest that, while some things are returning to the previous ‘normal’, others
aren’t.
