Hello,
The word "fat" is more often than not used in a negative way. It can be an insult,
an ugly adjective, or a red flag in food.
But should we be more positive about fat?
Too much fat, especially of the wrong kind, leads to all kinds of health problems. Indeed, the protein-to-fat ratio is a main factor in our method for reviewing dog food.
But there isn't one kind of fat, nor is fat always harmful. There are many fats, some of which are bad for your dog (and you), and some of which are healthy
— even essential to life.
Which is why we think you should read this article:
Which Fats Are Healthy for Dogs?
To help write it, we spoke to Bridget Meadows, Director of Food Engineering at
5-star-rated fresh dog food brand Ollie. It outlines which "good fats" you should get into your dog’s diet and which ingredients will provide them.
