Hey,
So, apparently there’s a significant event happening next week and no, it’s not the Liberty Bowl — but good luck to both teams anyway. (I’ll be honest, I know very little about college football.)
Yes, it’s the holidays! The religious holidays of Christmas and Hanukkah, plus a time for reflection and fun for those of other or no faith.
It’s also a difficult time for some, such as people who live alone, the elderly, the homeless, those with financial problems, the vulnerable, the grieving, and those
struggling with their physical or mental health.
It’s a tough time for far too many dogs, too. I know that every person reading this would give everything they have and
more to keep their dog safe, warm and well-fed. But we all know it’s not the case everywhere.
So, as this is my last proper Wednesday email of the year (it being Christmas
Day next Wednesday, I’ll keep things very short), I’m not going to offer any advice or send you to one of our many helpful articles (although, if you want advice, please do browse through them).
I’m just going to ask you to do one nice thing for a person or a dog. They could be stranger or a neighbor, a much-loved pup or one spending Christmas in a shelter. Perhaps there’s
somebody sleeping rough you could help — they might even have a dog.
You don’t have to give money or food. A kind word or a conversation, to show that you noticed them or are
thinking about them, can do wonders.
Hundreds of thousands of people receive this email. If each of you did one extra act of kindness because of it, it would inject a
little good into an often harsh world.
Sorry for being so sentimental, but if you can’t get soppy at this time of year, when can you?
Have a fabulous time.
