Hey, Happy Wednesday! We humans eat not only with our taste
buds, but also with our noses, eyes and minds (and maybe our ears if it's the sound of sizzling bacon). This can lead to us getting
the "ick" when it comes to certain foods. For example, I like the taste of shrimp. I will not, however, shell one myself. Indeed, just the other week I had to
deny myself a delicious shrimp cocktail in a restaurant because it came topped with a langoustine that required pulling apart.
For many people, offal or organ
meat can cause the "ick". These less popular parts of animal make some people squeamish. Instead of that shrimp cocktail, I had what I call brawn, but is often called headcheese (weird). It's a terrine made from meat taken from the head of, in this case, a pig. I found it delicious. Other people would gag at the thought. Dogs, however, don't get the ick when it comes to organ meat. Indeed, these unfashionable cuts are an underrated source of nutrition. So underrated and so nutritious that we wrote an article on it: The Offal Truth: Organ Meat for Dogs
Offal is extremely common in dog food. It’s a superfood that dogs love, particularly in a raw food or fresh food diet, and it’s relatively cheap due to less human demand. So maybe that ick factor isn't such a bad thing. Until next time, Andrew Editor The Dog Food Advisor Saving Good Dogs From Bad Dog Food

Are dogs carnivores or omnivores?

While many people assume that dogs are strict meat eaters due to their ancestral link to wolves, recent research shows that dogs are not exclusively carnivores and can even thrive on a plant-based
diet. However, the topic is not black and white. So we try to unpack it for you in this article.
