Hello, Many of you will recognize the AAFCO nutrient profiles that appear on dog food packaging. You
might be less familiar with another acronym often found there: WSAVA. Founded in 1959, WSAVA stands for the World Small
Animal Veterinary Association. But what is it and why is it on dog food?
We thought you’d like to know more about WSAVA, its values, how it
differs from AAFCO, and what its role is in terms of guidelines regarding dog food. We spoke to Dr. Brandon Stapleton, DVM,
