The story touches on a few topics that are increasingly frequent in
dog food news. People are more and more concerned with the sustainability, ethics and environmental impact of their dog’s food. That might be about the farming practices that produce the ingredients, the packaging or, the amount of meat used.
It’s also, kind of, in the realm of meat-free dog food. Obviously, it is meat, but it’s not from an animal. So you see what I mean. Let's say "alternative protein sources".

Now, at Dog Food Advisor we are pro-meat when it comes to dog food. Our ratings system are heavily biased toward good quality meat as a protein source. But we also know of dogs thriving on plant-based diets. It’s wise and healthy to keep an open mind.
