Are Mushrooms Good for Dogs? Hello, You’ll be aware of
possibly the corniest joke in the English language. Q: Why was the mushroom invited to the party? A: Because he’s a fungi. There are a few things you could take issue with, not least the fact that a single mushroom would be a fungus (fungi is plural), but unless the mushroom was called Gus, that wouldn’t work. And anyone pointing that out certainly wouldn’t be a fun guy. Anyway, jokes aside, should you be inviting the humble mushroom into your dog’s diet? The answer to that question is ‘yes’ — if you do it right.
Some mushrooms can be deadly for dogs, so you can’t just head to the woods and pick whatever you see. To learn all about mushrooms and their benefits to dogs, particularly for their immune systems, we spoke to Dr. Bernadine Cruz, DVM, from pawTree, which sells not only dog food but also supplements, including the mushroom-based immunity supplement ImmunoShroom. You can read what she said here:
In the article, Dr. Cruz looks at various things, including: - The health benefits of mushrooms for dogs
- The signs that a dog has been poisoned by a mushroom
- The types of dogs that could benefit from immunity-boosting
supplements
If you're interested in trying mushroom-based supplements, as a special bonus for DFA subscribers, pawTree is offering 25% off ImmunoShroom for new customers using the code SHROOM25. But be quick — this offer ends tomorrow (1/25).
