Hey, Happy Wednesday! A few weeks ago I received a wonderful
email from Gerry, a subscriber, telling me about her dog TJ — and how a Dog Food Advisor article on copper storage disease might have saved TJ’s life. You can read about it on our social channels: here on Facebook and here on
Instagram. It shows how just a little information can make a big difference. We try to help dog parents in many ways, from recall alerts to nutritional advice, money-saving tips and more. But when we get a message this personal and this directly linked to our work, it really has an effect. Thanks Gerry!
For that reason, we’d love to hear
any stories of DFA articles or emails helping you and your dogs. And, if you’re comfortable, we’d like to share them with other dog parents. To tell us your story, please click on this link and fill in the form. We might not be able to share all of them (but who knows?). Even so, I and the rest of the team here will appreciate reading them anyway. If an article or an email makes a positive difference to just one dog,
it was worth it. Speaking of sharing, I mentioned Facebook and Instagram channels above.
We've also just started a Facebook group for discussions. As well as another way to absorb advice, they’re wonderful ways to share stories with us and other dog
parents. Social media can be, and I choose these words carefully, a pit of negativity. We want our pages to be the complete opposite — happy places united by our common love of dogs. Please take a look, follow us, and share with friends and family.

How to Keep Your Dog Healthier For Longer
|
If dog parents could change one thing, it would be to have their dog by their side for eternity. Unfortunately,
dogs have shorter lifespans than humans. But the good news is, while there’s no way to guarantee a longer life for your dog, there are ways to enhance a dog’s healthspan — the period when they’re free of illnesses that are seriously detrimental to their day-to-day lives — and keep their tails wagging for longer. We asked Brandon Stapleton, DVM, and head veterinarian for 5-star-rated The Farmer’s Dog, for his tips on enhancing a dog’s
healthspan.
