Hey, Happy Wednesday! Usually, something has inspired the
topic for these emails. The last time I mentioned today's article, it was after a friend had visited from Japan and I noticed how slowly he and his family ate. This is almost certainly better for you. In fact, I'd say the Japanese relationship with food is generally much healthier than many 'western' countries, including the U.S. Anyway, that's not why I'm talking about it today. I'm talking about it today because it gives me an excuse to use one of my favorite photos. This one.
See? Who wouldn't be inspired by that? Anyway, my dog is like a nuclear-powered vacuum cleaner when he eats. He gets nearly half a pound of meat and... woosh. Gone in seconds. Many, if not most dogs eat quickly. But is it okay? We have an article about that... It looks at questions such as: Can a dog eat too fast? Can eating quickly cause problems or be a sign of health issues? Can we do anything to slow them down? I highly recommend you read it.
It’s really fascinating and far more complex than you might think. It also makes you realize that there might be more to it than pure greed or hunger, or ancestral
instincts. More great photos (and info) next week...
