There are some rules, guidelines and policies when it comes to writing these reviews, to ensure fairness and to make sure no laws are broken. In brief, they are:
Be honest and fair — only review products you’ve actually used, and don’t submit a review if you work for or have a financial relationship with the brand.
Be specific — include as many details as possible.
Focus on the food, not the brand — no comments on pricing, shipping, customer service, etc.
No medical diagnoses — tell us what you personally observed in your dog: appetite, digestion, coat, energy, etc, but don’t claim the food cured, treated, prevented or caused any health condition.
Be respectful — constructive criticism is welcome; personal attacks and offensive language are not.
Reviews are subject to approval, so please bear these guidelines in mind when writing yours. By submitting a review, you confirm that it
reflects your genuine, first-hand experience and agree to our Terms of Use.
You will be asked to rate the food from 1 to 5. I would kindly ask that you are fair when it comes to this. Too often on websites, you see products given one star for minor problems, honest mistakes or things that are out of the manufacturer/vendor’s hands.
Also, please don’t limit your reviews to the dog food you currently use. If you’ve used several brands, please review them all. But please be sure to mention when you used
them — recipes, etc, may have changed since.
I hope you find this new feature valuable. It's not here to replace our unbiased ingredient-based reviews, but give you some extra information when it comes to choosing dog food.
